Join instructor and trip leader Pierre Larocque and Waterfront Diving Center to the Ð Islands of Ñ Palau & Yap Jan 17 – Feb 01, 2008 Divers bring your cameras! Vertical walls begin knee deep and plummet straight down to more than 1,000 feet. With 200 feet of visibility and gorgonian fans 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide, these are photo opportunities you won’t want to miss. There are blue holes, giant undersea tunnels and stalactite filled caves. Palau’s most exciting site is Blue Corner. Here the reef makes a corner that juts out into the open sea. On this dive divers may experience Gray Reef Sharks, Blue Marlin, Manta Rays, Dogtooth Tuna and schools of more than 100 Barracuda. Having dived this part of the world for many years, I can honestly say that this is by far some of the best diving I’ve ever done. This is Big Blue Water with Big Fish and Big Currents. Its exciting, exhilarating and not for the meek or timid. I would love this place for the diving alone, however, there is one more added benefit, and that’s the food. Regardless of your tastes: Indian, Japanese, local cuisine, its all good and all fresh, all the time. "Who wants to see the Mantas?!" If you do, then good news! Our next stop is Yap, the unchallenged leader of Manta Ray Diving in the world. Most encounters occur in depths of 25 to 50 feet in channels to the sea. These gentle giants appear unafraid of divers making any encounter one of the most exhilarating experiences a diver can have. Besides the Mantas, the culture of Yap is intact; with the people doing the things the same way their forefathers did, including the use of stone money. This trip includes round trip airfare from Burlington to Honolulu, HI to Guam to Koror, Palau. One night at a hotel near Waikiki. Airport/hotel transfers in Palau (airport/hotel transfers in Hawaii not included). Eight nights at the West Plaza Hotel in a double room, six days of two tank diving with NECO Marine including lunch and dive permit fees. Then off to Yap for three days of diving; while on Yap we will be staying at the Manta Ray Bay in ocean view rooms with breakfast included. All this and more for $4,395.00 *Prices per person based on double occupancy and subject to change until ticketed. Non-refundable deposit of $750 by 10/15/07 guarantees a space.
