NAUI FIRST AID & CPR ╬ Accidents happen. When they do, it is necessary act promptly and appropriately. When certified divers find themselves in these situations providing first aid and CPR, they are considered as non-professional "lay rescuers." However, unlike the general population, divers often find themselves in remote or exotic locations where EMS systems are distant, primitive or non-existent. They also confront first aid rescue situations that demand specialized knowledge not generally possessed by the general public or typical first aid lay provider. For these reasons, divers need to understand first aid in the context of diving-related conditions.
NAUI First Aid is an eight-hour certification course designed to provide non-divers and divers, recreational as well as dive leaders, with information and skills to handle most diving-related emergencies. The course covers topics such as: NAUI First Aid will consist of two 4-hour sessions. Each session will consist of lecture, discussion and practical skill application.
